Written for a literary song contest at ConText way back when. They didn't say it had to be a science fiction book....

"Gone With The Wind" was in my head at the time, as well, as there had been a recent announcement of an official sequel, authorized by the estate of Margaret Mitchell. I THINK that was the first high-profile "paid-for fanfic".

And, of COURSE I'm singing it like Porky Pig did in "Robin Hood Daffy". Duh.
