Lazy Day

about

This is part of the "Rhino Beetle & Happy Frog" segment of the Something Not Politics project. Think of it as a character set-up song.

lyrics

Feel that breeze, it's sweet and dry,
All these trees that touch the sky,
I'm so pleased, I'll tell you why,
It's another lazy day.

Cream and curds to tempt your nose,
Hummingbirds come lick your toes,
What their words are, no one knows,
It’s another lazy day.

Sure, some stuff's important,
Sure, some things can’t wait.
But something tells me I’ll be fine
If I'm just slightly late.

Birds and bees, so much to do,
From flowers to trees and fro and to,
Can’t they see they’re overdue
To have a lazy day.

There goes Rhino Beetle,
Running quite the race.
Hey, my friend, relax awhile,
The day’s too fine to waste.

Sorry, Frog, if I seem rude,
But my slog’s essential, dude,
Beneath that log there might be food,
No time for a lazy day.

Rhino, you’re a good sort (Happy, you’re a good sort)
But you’re always stressed (You’re never sad, I guess)
You help till you drop (I can’t seem to stop)
Sometimes you’ve got to rest (Sometimes I’D like a rest)

“... I gotta go.”

There he goes, with things to do,
Fearing woes that might come true
Me, I chose to sink into
Another lazy day,
Another lazy day.
